Cara Taylor

Nursery Manager

Cara our nursery manager has worked within early years for many years and comes from a managerial background within the sector, where she has led an outstanding provision. Cara comes with a range of knowledge and passion for child development and ensures this is shared with the wider staff team.

Cara has a level 3 in Early Years, as well as a level 5 in Leadership and Management in Early Years, is a qualified Early Years SENCO and comes with a wealth of additional training which enables her to develop a team and approach to ensure children have the best start to education and learning.

Cara particularly strives for high quality learning and teaching and promotes this through a bespoke curriculum for all our children, here at Garforth Day Nursery and Preschool. Cara utilises her training in well- being and mindfulness to ensure this is a vital part of our curriculum, to ensure a safe, secure and positive environment for all, ensuring children are able to develop lifelong skills, with the support of nurturing Educators. Cara works in strong partnership with our families and offers a holistic and supportive relationship, where parents can share ideas, in hand supporting the continued development of all children.

Cara has an enthusiastic and caring approach to her role and together with the wider leadership team ensures the smooth running of the nursery, within the staff team and the development of all children at Garforth Day Nursery and Preschool.

Natalie

Natalie Butterfield

Deputy Manager

Natalie, our Deputy Manager holds a level 3 in Children’s care, learning and development and has a wealth of additional training within the sector as well as vast experience in various roles and many years of childcare experience.

Natalie is particularly passionate about ‘In the moment’ planning, extending children’s interests and implementing purposeful activities and interactions. She is enthusiastic in ensuring that children can learn through play in an enabling environment with the support of nurturing and skilful educators. Natalie is passionate in supporting the staff team and is a strong mentor to all staff and is continuously strengthening our nursery ethos and implementing our Curriculum, ensuring children thrive.

Natalie has participated in a great deal of external training to continuously improve her professional development and is motivated in contributing and implementing ideas within the nursery to ensure children have the best possible start to education as well as ensuring our staff team are part of a positive workforce.

Natalie is incredibly nurturing and shares this with all children at Garforth Day Nursery. Natalie provides the staff team with a positive role model, supportive leader and passionate educator.

Lydia Rowntree

Assistant Deputy Manager

Lydia has many years dedicated to nurturing and educating young children within the childcare sector and has a Degree in Early Childhood studies. Lydias background has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the needs of both children and their families. Lydia draws on her wealth of knowledge to support the team and children around her, ensuring that every child’s needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.

Lydia is a skilled practitioner but also a trusted leader. Her experience has given her the ability to create a positive, well-structured environment for both staff and children. She is particularly passionate about behaviour management and self-regulation, understanding that these are key components in fostering both emotional and social development in young children. Lydia takes a thoughtful approach to challenging behaviour, always focusing on building positive relationships and supporting children to understand and manage their emotions effectively, ensuring that they feel empowered to explore and grow.

One of Lydia’s strengths is her ability to create a calm and organised environment and is able to provide structure whilst ensuring that children still feel empowered to explore and grow. Her passion for helping children understand themselves and their emotions continues to drive her as she works to create spaces where both children and staff can thrive.

Lydia is also our lead SENCO and works with all key members of our team to ensure rigorous and bespoke support plans are in place for all individual children who may require this.
